Requirements
Diagoran runs interactively on your personal computer under the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or XP operating systems. [If you would like to Beta-test a version for Windows Vista® or Windows7, or have interest in a Linux version, please send an e-mail to Technical.Support at diligentinvestor.com.] You need a USB port for the physical security key and a CD drive to load the program and documentation. You need Microsoft Word or a PDF reader as supplied by Adobe or Foxit to see the documentation, and a printer if you want a hard copy of the output file.
You will need a closing price capture program such as Portfolio Manager, Quicken, Money or XLQ (the xlqLite package is better than any alternative) with an Internet connection to track the closing prices of the stocks in your portfolio automatically. Alternatively, you must somehow enter daily closing price data directly into any CSV format spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel. You may want to use Excel as an intermediary to XLQ, as well as loading data directly, see QMatix. A copy of the XLQ engine is included on the CD-R, ready for your 45-day free trial.
You will need a simple text editor such as Notepad to enter ticker symbol and number of shares for each stock in your portfolio. You will need about 200 MBytes on your hard drive (of which 180 MBytes consists of screen shots to illustrate the documentation), a good graphics card, a recent microprocessor such as an Intel Pentium® 4, and at least 128 MBytes of random access memory. That is, you probably can use almost any Microsoft PC or laptop hardware made in the last fifteen years!
